To impart good quality undergraduate engineering education, the department focuses on developmet of practical and application oriented minds. The department strives to inculcate engineering skills in its undergraduate students. Whereas acquisition of conceptual knowledge and conceptual reasoning is important, teh department believes that real value is provided when these are implemented to build real products. This belief drives the department in laying stress on problem solving skills in tutorials and engineering skills in the laboratory.

The department has well equipped Labs having 200 computers fully connected through servers running on Linux Network and Windows 2000. A proxy server is dedicated towards the proper functioning of Internet services through a 1 Mbps leased line Connection

The Department is planning for tie-ups with Microsoft, IBM, Infosys, CISCO, RedHat etc. for the industry oriented training of the students.
